Help us feed people in our community
As part of our commitment to spread goodwill within the Reno community, we support a unique youth-focused feeding program with the Eddy House. We have been operating for a year now, with a handful of moms with their kids who are excellent cooks meeting once a month to provide lunch or dinner to this charitable foundation.
We would like to invite you to join us in our mission and help us expand the number of days we can serve the community. This provides participants with a chance to do service for those young adults who are in need of support. Eddy House has a variety of programs to help create a safe environment for homeless and at-risk youth (18-24 years old) to develop the life and job skills necessary for sustainable independence.
During our monthly meetings, we buy the ingredients, spend about 5 hours cooking in our homes, and deliver food for approximately 35 – 55 people to the Eddie House staff. 100% of donations go towards buying the raw materials to cook. It only takes about $5 to feed one person, giving them a plate of warm healthy meal with 3 to 5 different dishes cooked with love (ex. chickpeas, rice, potatoes, fruit & drinks).
We are reaching out to generous hearts in our community for donations that will help serve in kindness to these young adults.
Ways you can contribute:
-
Sponsor a meal: $150 (your name will be put in the sponsorship that day and you get a meal from that day’s cooking)
-
Sponsor half a meal: $75 (your name will be added with the rest of the team in the sponsorship that day, and blessings of the food)
-
Any amount will help. (You will be included in the blessings of the food and be part of the team that contributed)
-
Supporting our fundraising programs. We do meditations every month and we have a cooking class coming up. Click here for more information
